Dear All Design Lovers and Enthusiasts,


We proudly present the second Decorous – Sidharta Contemporary Furniture Clearance Auction, to be held on Sunday, 25 November 2012, at the Kemang89 Building, Kemang, South Jakarta, at the same time marking the second year of our cooperation with the eminent furniture retail company, Decorous.


Like our auction last year, once again several world famous brands such as Vitra, Minotti, Cassina, Kartell, Magis, Lolli e Memmoli and Alias will be offered in this auction.


Among the iconic design furniture that is offered, you will find Charles and Ray Eames’s La Chaise (lot #259) produced by Vitra, which was designed in 1948 for a competition at New York’s Museum of Modern Art in New York. Innspired by Gaston Lachaise’s sculpture entitled “Floating Figure”, the piece allows for various elegant sitting and reclining positions, making this piece both a wonderful functional piece as well as an aesthetic piece of art in itself.


The Magis Proust (lot #172) was designed by Allesandro Mendini, originally in 1978. Since then, the “Poltrona di Proust” was realized in many versions, different in colours, materials and dimensions and was even made of ceramics and bronze. It travelled all around the world and was hosted in many museums. Indeed, you will find some classical pieces in this auction.


Louis Poulsen’s Artichoke lamp (lots #133) was originally designed by Poul Henningsen in 1958 for the Langelinie Pavillonen restaurant in Copenhagen. Its composition of 72 leaves is positioned all around the light source to diffuse light so that the lamp provides totally glare-free light when viewed from any angle.

For the office, there are many chairs, tables, lamps and drawer units that are also offered in this auction.
